NAVITIME JAPAN Co., Ltd. ("Navitime") understands that, in this modern society with highly-developed information technology, it is a company's critical social responsibility to appropriately protect and handle personal information that Navitime receives from customers. Navitime, as a company providing navigation services through the Internet, deeply recognizes the importance and social responsibility of the protection of personal information, and makes efforts regarding the appropriate protection and handling of personal information that it receives from customers as follows.
- Navitime appropriately protects the personal information of customers, business partners and employees of Navitime (the "Personal Information") by assigning a manager and establishing handling rules for the Personal Information.
- Navitime obtains the Personal Information by an appropriate method to the extent that Navitime requires for its business. When Navitime obtains such Personal Information, Navitime makes clear the purpose of obtaining and using the Personal Information and how it will use such information, and the customer service contact information for complaints and inquiries.
- Unless required by an order, etc. in accordance with the law, Navitime does not use or provide the Personal Information outside of the scope of confirmed usages that Navitime receives when it obtains the Personal Information.
- Navitime takes reasonable security countermeasures against unauthorized access to the Personal Information, loss, destruction, alteration or leakage of the Personal Information and other risks, through management of accessible IDs and passwords, restriction of access to the data storage rooms and other measures. Navitime also checks and reviews the countermeasures and status of their implementation on a regular basis, and corrects them as necessary.
- Navitime has set up the customer service department to accept complaints and inquires and to deal appropriately with the issues regarding handling of the Personal Information and the management system of the protection of the Personal Information.
- When Navitime entrusts other companies with the handling of Personal Information, Navitime appropriately enters into an agreement with such companies and supervises and controls such companies so that they observe the usage, provisions and security management of Personal Information, as agreed to when such Personal Information is obtained.
- When Navitime is requested to disclose or correct the Personal Information retained by Navitime, including, notification of purpose of use of such Personal Information, addition to or deletion of such Personal Information, stopping use or erasure of such Personal Information, or stopping provision to third parties of such Personal Information, Navitime will, after confirming the customer's identification appropriately, deal with such requests immediately to the reasonable extent.
- Navitime observes all laws and regulations, guidelines and other rules established by the Japanese government that are applicable to the Personal Information handled by Navitime. Navitime also administrates and corrects, as necessary, its internal system so that the Personal Information is managed appropriately, and repeatedly reviews and improves its efforts to protect the Personal Information.
